Not sure how to feel about this…
I’m surprised Tenchi isn’t wearing a shorty-short skirt, or revealing his legs in some way, too.
I know, right?!
Loving the Washu design but wondering why there appears to be a bloody handprint on Ryoko’s boob…
Mischievous Applejack is the best Applejack.
Um, I maybe bought a big lot of stuff on ebay because it had 8 Clawdeens in it. Oops.
Well, the good news for you all is that I’ll have a bunch more stuff to sell soon!
You guys! Today is PUBLICATION DAY for my new picture book called HUG MACHINE!!
That is right! HUG MACHINE is out today in stores all over the place. This is incredibly exciting for me because this will be the first picture book in which I have both written the words AND drawn the pictures. An exciting milestone, my friends.
HUG MACHINE is the story of a child who is super down with hugging. He is the self-proclaimed Hug Machine and he is very excited to tell everyone about it. He is very good at hugging and he is not shy to show the world. He is ready for you to watch how amazing he is at hugging.
You can read more about this at PyramidCar.com
And if you want to print out activities for your kids that are all about the Hug Machine, you can go to HugMachineBook.com
Oh, this is adorable.
now that all her facial features are brought to light, someone explain how this cat is considerd a poc? aside from her fur, which is just fur she doesn’t shave like clawdeen so we knowthis is not her real ‘skin color’. and tbh I don’t see any determininfactors tht point to her being racially coded.
This dark-skinned Barbie? Totally not representing a person of color! Sorry, there’s just nothing indicating that she’s not white other than, you know, the color of the doll. She’s even wearing baby pink lipstick — JUST LIKE WHITE PEOPLE DO. She’s even got two eyes, and a nose — JUST LIKE WHITE PEOPLE.
When you believe that Catty Noir is not a……..monster of color (?), I feel as if you’re assuming that white people are the default. Like, it takes a lot of imaginative leaps to conclude that Catty is not black versus just taking her as she is — she’s a black cat. The doll is black. Dark-skinned. You don’t believe it’s skin? That’s fine. The doll is made of dark plastic. I’ll bet a lot of little dark-skinned girls saw Catty on the shelves and fell in love with her because they saw themselves in her. I’m not a person of color so I don’t know exactly what that is like but I’d imagine that it’s something akin to the feeling I got when I used to find female X-Men action figures as a kid. When I got the Jubilee Generation X action figure, I was excited because I saw something of myself in her. Hell, even now I get excited when I hear rumors about things like a Wonder Woman movie. There are grownass people on this website that are telling you that they love Catty for who she is and for many of them, that includes the feeling of representation. Why would you argue with this? Why? Why is it so important to you that this doll and other dolls not be monsters of color? And if your argument is, “why is this even a problem, just shutup already then”, you should think about it some more; I know people with your attitude hate the phrase white privilege but that’s exactly what is it. Think about how you might feel if there were few positive reflections of you in popular culture. Yes, I also understand the argument that “they’re just monsters and they have no race” but I think it’s impossible to…….I’m not sure how to say this…….implement that because we’re all going to somehow look for ourselves and lives in culture.
I’m not going to curse at you or put you on any lists but I am going to say that you’re being racist and at this point, you’re purposely doing it to upset people. I’m going to repeat my question - why? Why do you so desperately need for Catty Noir to not be black? Then ask yourself, why might others need for her to be black?
Please get rid of the anon account which seems to be specifically for posting things that will upset people. That’s called trolling. I’m here to show off my dolls, pine for the collections of others, be jealous of everyone’s mad art skills, sell and trade, and have some honest dialog. I don’t believe in hiding who I am and I don’t believe in being passive aggressive. This is my safe space.
If anyone would like to talk about why representation of people of color is important or why monster dolls aren’t just monster-race, I would suggest asking a person of color and being serious and non-confrontational. I’m happy to have dialog as well but I am not a person of color so I can’t answer questions that well. Just bear in mind that if you’re being an anonymous little asshole pot-stirrer, you’re probably going to get sassed, lectured, blocked, and put on display for others to be angry at.
I have a lot more thoughts on this stuff; more particularly, the way people actually respond to racism. If anyone would like to talk, share thoughts, etc. feel free to holler at me. I don’t normally like to get involved in this stuff but I’m just tired of people intentionally making others angry.
Catching up on SAO2 right now; I kind of hate watching on-going anime because then I have to wait a week to watch it again. Anyway, fem Kirito ftw. (source)
I really hope SSLYBY announce a Virginia or DC tour date for this fall; there aren’t very many bands left that make me feel as hopeful as they do.
Have you “caught” the special someone in your life yet? If so, we think this is a pretty cool way to make it official! It definitely says “I choose you!”
Really? I’m not sure how I feel about this.
